About Ten-lined June Beetle
Not sure what this was, at first thought a potato bug, but looking at closer realized it was not. Not the kind of June bug I am used to seeing. Pretty sure this a Ten-lined Beetle, got this photo with my Android camera using the magnifying glass app. Better photo than with my Nikon P950. After reading about this beetle and the Long Haired Beetle, I touched the protonum on this beetle and it is smooth.
Symptoms to watch for
Treatment options
Targeted Insecticide Application
Apply appropriate insecticide following label directions. Timing is critical — treat during the vulnerable larval or adult emergence stage for maximum effectiveness.
Biological Control Agents
Introduce or encourage natural predators and parasitoids. Options include releasing predatory beetles, parasitic wasps, or applying Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis) for caterpillar pests.
Infested Material Removal
Prune and destroy infested branches and plant material. Remove fallen debris that may harbor eggs or larvae. Dispose of material away from healthy trees.
